Taekkyeon began gaining greater visibility in Portugal in 2021, promoted mainly by the Portuguese Taekkyeon Association and by masters dedicated to preserving traditional Korean martial arts. In Portugal, it maintains its identity as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, standing out both in competitive and recreational contexts, promoting movement, culture, and tradition.
